Originally founded as a result of a downsizing from Motorola Communications International(Hawaii), the Area VP and Area HR manager started up CommQuest Communications Inc. (since changed to CQ Communications, Inc.). Motorola CI eliminated the direct sales branch of the company, focusing instead on the indirect distribution method. CQ Communications essentially became the new sales organization, assuming all of the direct salespeople at the time, and becoming Hawaii's first FULL-LINE Motorola indirect dealer. We have since expanded our product portfolio to include the top land-mobile two-way radio brands, and the most popular cellular providers in Hawaii, including Sprint Nextel. No other dealer in Hawaii has been selling Nextel continuously longer than CQ Communications (from 1993), going back as far as Nextel ANALOG two-way radio service when we first opened our doors.
