The Dorvin D. Leis Company, Inc. (DDL) is a full service mechanical contractor encompassing the entire spectrum of new construction. DDL provides mechanical contracting services for residential homes, condominiums, resorts, light commercial projects, high-rise complexes, schools, and hospitals across the Hawaiian Islands. Our construction has also included state, county and federal projects including military facilities.
Dorvin Duane Leis founded the company in 1961 in California and moved it to Hawaii in 1967, where it has been in continuous operation since that time. Specialty licenses include plumbing, air conditioning, fire sprinklers, electrical, sewer-sewage disposal, and above/below ground flammable liquid storage tanks. Additionally, DDL maintains its own in-house design, control and service departments. DDL is the largest mechanical contractor in the State of Hawaii with current annual revenues over $120 million with over 450 employees. DDL was recently selected to provide mechanical contracting services for the planned Trump International Hotel and Tower, Waikiki Beach. Building Industry Magazine consistently ranks DDL among the largest contractors in the state and the largest mechanical contractor. In addition, Engineering News Record magazine's national Top 600 Specialty Contractors survey consistently ranks DDL in the top 50 percentile. The company also received Build Hawaii Awards of Excellence from the General Contractors Association of Hawaii in 2004, 2005 and 2006. DDL has been recognized by the American Public Works Association, the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Mechanical Contractors Association of America. Our safety program has received the first place award from the American Society of Safety Engineers – Hawaii chapter for the lowest incident rate for specialty contractors with over 500,000 man hours worked.
Dorvin D. Leis Company’s involvement in Project 501 is as a design-build partner with the mechanical engineer Notkin Hawaii Inc. Plumbing, ventilation and domestic solar hot water will be provided for the two-story single-family house, and all air-conditioning, plumbing and ventilation will be provided for the two-story office building.
