Hawaiian Telcom is the state’s leading telecommunications provider, offering the broadest range of products and services for residential and business customers, which include local, long distance, High-Speed Internet and wireless services. The company’s goal is to keep people and businesses in Hawaii connected to each other and the world.
Hawaiian Telcom is donating a full voice communications system, utilizing state-of-the-art IP (Internet Protocol) technology. The system integrates voice, video and wireless capabilities throughout both complexes.
Unique highlights of the system:
At the push of a button, the family can enable a video-feed and speaker phone to their nursery for real-time monitoring and two-way communication.
The wireless capability integrates the voice and data networks, allowing users to stay connected via their laptop computers and phones throughout the property.
In addition, five wireless phones on Hawaiian Telcom’s family service plan will be provided. To guard against power failures, an uninterruptible power supply will also be installed at the site.
Hawaiian Telcom is donating the equipment, design, engineering and installation for the entire communications system. The company is also providing full support and maintenance for all services for one year as well as High-Speed Internet and wireless services for one year. The estimated value of the total donation is nearly $200,000.
