“Good Morning, Akana family!" was the wake-up call heard this morning by one lucky Hawaii family. Ty Pennington, along with the rest of the crew from the hit television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, greeted the Kalihi Valley family of six with the good news: they had been selected to receive the next home makeover. Brookfield Homes Hawai’i, along with hundreds of workers and community volunteers, will work around the clock to make the family’s dream home come true.

Day one started with the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s design team pulling up to the Akana family’s house to deliver their surprise “door knock” in a luxury motor coach bus, courtesy of Roberts Hawaii. The full-service transportation, tour and activities provider is also contributing to the build by shuttling volunteers from the airport to their hotels, operating two shuttle 24-hours a day between the workers/volunteer check-in area and the build site, and by providing shuttles for spectators.
